BONNIE DENNIS
Bonnie Dennis, started her acting career over 20 years ago and has appeared in several theatre, film and television productions. She cut her acting teeth in the famed Cabaret Theatre of Bridgeport, Connecticut before migrating to New York City. She’s studied with various instructors including Alice Spivak at Woodie King’s New Federal Theatre. After performing for several years, Bonnie became increasingly interested in taking more control over her own career destiny by producing. After producing and co-producing with others, Bonnie decided to open her own film production company. In 2005 B.U.M. Productions Film Company was formed. When asked what “B.U.M.” stands for, Bonnie responds: “It’s not an acronym. I care about the disenfranchised. The name BUM was already taken.” Since B.U.M was formed, Bonnie has written, directed and produced various commercials, feature films and shorts. Bonnie has mentored filmmaking to high school students through Reelworks Teen Filmmaking, Inc. and SoBRO at The High School of Computers and Technology. Bonnie continues to work tirelessly to be the voice for those who have none and to share their stories with the world.
